“EMPOWERED AGING means taking the fear out of aging, transforming living, celebrating change.”
Karen Williams is a content producer and integrative wellness practitioner who is equally at home working in front of and behind a camera. With an extensive background in healthcare administration, advanced integrative healing therapies, social advocacy, acting and film production, Karen’s mission is to interrogate “Empowered Aging.”
Karen produces content that illuminates the ways in which the Silent Generation (age 72-89), Baby Boomers (age 50-71) and Generation X (age 35-49) are living and thriving and, in doing so, disrupting the fear-based associations with aging. Part of her quest is also to highlight how society can better respond on multiple levels to the changing needs of an aging population.
First scouted to model when she was 13, Karen represented Canada as an Eileen and Jerry Ford “Face of the 80s”. In 1983, she signed with FORD Models combining a professional modeling career with her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Brown University and the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). After spending 25+ years honing skills in other industries, Karen returned to modeling to leverage its platform to promote “Empowered Aging.”
