This CCNY graduate and elementary school teacher went on to grace the pages of Mademoiselle, Glamour, Italian and French Vogue. From Revlon’s ground breaking women of color campaign “Polished Ambers” to being one of the 1st African American models to to appear in The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Coco has been a source of inspiration and a driving force in the fashion industry. Coco Mitchell has worked with such renowned photographers as Francesco Scavullo, Mathew Rolston and Herb Ritts. And the list of designers that she has worked for is as long as it is diverse. From Armani,Versace, Dior, Givenchy, Sonia Rykiel, Yves St. Laurent, Issey Miyake, Valentino, Gian Franco Ferre to Chado Ralph Rucci, Calvin Klein, Bill Blass, Badgely Mischka Donna Karan and countless others. Coco Mitchell is among that select group of models who season after season are able to effectively evoke mood and fashion-forward glamour. Coco Mitchell has also extended her brand to include such illustrious campaigns as Thierry Mugler’s “White Sands”, Virginia Slims, Benson and Hedges, and countless television commercials. Coco has been asked to speak at such prestigious institutions as FIT, Pratt, and the Phoenix Art Museum in conjunction with PAM’s “Chado Ralph Rucci” exhibit.
